Custom hand-made original Mrdanga from top to bottom. This natural clay drum is made in Sri Vrindavan by the best artisan, using ahimsa or non-violence procured leather from cows. The sound quality has been tested by the best traditional musicians in Vrindavan and assures one of most fantastic experiences while playing. Mrdanga is a musical instrument that communicates between the soul and divine.
This Mrdanga measures approx. 23 inches along the body. The bass head is approx. 8 inches in diameter and the treble heads will be about 4 inches in diameter. The bass gob (resonating paste) will be brown clay base as it produces a desirable deep bass tone and the treble gob has a brown clay base but a black outer layering which is more dense and thus gives a sharper treble tone.
